The Administrative Development and Training Department of the Kuwait Fund for Development organized an orientation session for participants of the 44th batch of the Training and Qualification Program for Newly Graduated Kuwaiti Engineers and Architects. The event was attended by the Acting Director General of the Kuwait Fund, Mr. Waleed Shamlan Al-Bahar, and the Director of the Administrative Development and Training Department, Eng. Fawaz Al-Adsani.
During his speech, Al-Bahar explained that the Training and Qualification Program for Newly Graduated Kuwaiti Engineers and Architects, launched by the Kuwait Fund in 2004, has successfully graduated more than 1,000 Kuwaiti engineers and architects to date. He emphasized that the program continues to play a vital role in developing national talent in the fields of engineering and architecture, in line with the needs of the local labor market and the country’s development priorities.
Al-Bahar noted that the program aims to equip participants with the practical experience and professional skills required to meet labor market demands with competence and professionalism. He explained that the program contributes to preparing a new generation of engineers and architects capable of actively supporting Kuwait’s development efforts and achieving its national objectives.
He reaffirmed the Kuwait Fund’s commitment to supporting and empowering Kuwaiti youth by enhancing their professional capabilities, reflecting the Fund’s belief in their important role in building the future of the country. He encouraged participants to make the most of all stages of the program and wished them success in their professional journeys.
The Director of the Administrative Development and Training Department, Eng. Fawaz Al-Adsani, explained that the program consists of three integrated phases. The first phase lasts three months and includes lectures, workshops, and practical applications covering engineering, technical, administrative, and financial topics.
Al-Adsani added that the second phase extends for six months and includes field training with leading international companies and institutions, allowing participants to work directly within these organizations and gain practical experience in advanced professional environments.
He noted that the program concludes with a four-month training phase in Kuwait, during which participants receive field training in local companies, institutions, and factories, most of which belong to the private sector. This phase aims to strengthen the skills and expertise acquired throughout the program and enable participants to apply them in the local work environment.
The program forms part of the Kuwait Fund’s ongoing efforts to support and develop national competencies and enhance graduates’ readiness for the labor market through specialized training opportunities both within Kuwait and abroad.
